VZ Commodore - The Price Is Right

With the recent release of the Holden VZ Commodore, the following is the recommendedHolden VZ Commodore Uteretail price of the Ute range. Holden is offering three body types in the range, a two door ute tub, two door one tonne cab chassis, and a four door Crewman ute bodied dual cab. All the V6 models are equipped with the 175kw Alloytec engine and the V8's are powered by the updated GenIII V8. At present the 190kw V6 Aloytec engine is not available in the ute range, but we're expecting to see it in the Series II utes. All manual models are equipped with the six speed gearbox, and the automatics have an upgraded four speed.

Brock gets V8 Rodeo

Peter Brock will be driving an all new V8 powered Holden Rodeo in the decidedly competitive Australian Safari from September 12th to 20th, in outback New South Wales.

Last year Brock competed in a V6 Rodeo and finished in Second place. Brock will team up with Ross Runnalls who will navigate this powerful beast across all terrain types in the 8 day race.

It?s getting closer to that time of year again, when people start getting excited about heading to Deniliquin to go to the Ute Muster. 2004 plans to be a bigger year again, with a great music line up on the main stage and heaps of other activities to keep everyone entertained for the weekend.

Holden Goes Hybrid

The new Alloytec V6 Engine will be part of the new Petrol / Electric Hybrid engine that could be on sale in Australia within five years, confirmed Holden boss Denny Mooney. He also revealed that there could be a V8 hybrid on the cards also; it would be based on the LS2 6.0 litre, which has recently been released in the C6 Corvette in the US.

V6 Alloytec - Thirstier than first thought

Holden has revealed its all new Alloytec V6 engine that will be used to power the VZ Commodore which is due to be released later this year is dubious about the fuel efficiency compared to the older Buick based 3.8 litre cast iron block V6 that has been in Commodores since 1988.
